Tech Savvy Seniors - Internet Email Staying Safe Online and Online Banking
This workshop is designed for Seniors 60+ (or ATSI 50+) who have heard of the Internet but are not really sure what it can offer them. You will be learn how to get online, surf the net, do effective searches, and find the right Internet plan for you. Learn how to navigate and scroll through websites effectively, download files, using and storing pages in your favourites folder, change your internet browser‘s home page, enlarge a webpage, watch movies online, how to create your own email account, read and send your own emails, attaching files and replying and forwarding emails, as well as staying safe online. Completion of a Computers for Beginners course or basic windows and mouse skills required before enrolling. The Tech Savvy Seniors program is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

Agenda
Internet: how to get online, how to surf the net, do effective searches, and find the right Internet plan for you. Then you will be shown how to navigate and scroll through websites effectively, how to download files, using and storing pages in your favourites folder. Participants will also learn how to change their internet browser‘s home page, enlarge a webpage, watch movies online, as well as staying safe online.
Emails: Learn in detail what is email and how it works, what is the difference between an email address and website address, how to create your own email account, read and send your own emails, as well as attaching files and replying and forwarding emails.
Materials
Bring pen and paper (tea and coffee available).
Because there has been a high incidence of people enrolling and then not attending, we may charge you a nominal fee upon enrolment. If you are unable to attend any session or a whole course, or you decide not to continue, please contact the College Office and advise accordingly.
